Berrington Hall 10K (22/09/2019)

A new off road race organised by the National Trust and Croft Ambrey to raise money for the restoration of the walled garden.
The forecast said rain, and it did, but that didn’t stop Ange, Martin and Addy running 2 laps of the grounds designed by Capability Brown.
Despite having lots of marshals, Croft fielded some strong female athletes so Addy knew she would have her work cut out. Martin wanted to beat Addy, to get his revenge for the Hillbilly race, and Ange just
“wanted to finish”.
In very wet, long grass they all ran well. Martin came in 6TH overall with Addy hot on his heels in 7TH place. However, she was the first female and won a splendid prize of a cream tea, a NT gift card and free entry for a return trip to Berrington. In true supportive fashion, Ange and Martin helped her spend every penny in the gift shop!
Great course, well organised and very supportive marshals. Definitely one for next year.

[Ed. Are they really running all these races or does this photo look oddly familiar! 🙂
